Originally opened in 1922, the recently refurbished Alhambra Theatre is a unique and atmospheric venue for events and functions. Boasting unparalleled flexibility, with capacity ranging from 250 – 2100, the Alhambra is perfect for all occasions. Having recently hosted acts as diverse as KT Tunstall, Bjorn Again, Biffy Clyro and Broadway Swings, the Alhambra has built a reputation as one of Scotland’s finest entertainment venues, and with an exciting programme lined up for the year ahead, featuring shows by Jimmy Carr, The Enemy, Bloc Party and Tim Minchin, 2009 promises to be an exciting time to be involved with the Alhambra Theatre.
The flexibility of the main auditorium is key to the future success of the Alhambra. We have recently installed a system of curtains and dimmers which enable us to reduce the capacity of the auditorium whilst retaining the unique atmosphere of the theatre. This allows us to partition off half of the 632 seat balcony, or black-out the balcony altogether. The seated capacity of the ground floor is 600, which can be reduced to 443 by partitioning off the rear stalls, and with the seats out the standing capacity is 1400.
Would you like to watch a performance from a seat fit for a king and queen? Ideal for a special occasion, the Alhambra Theatre has four beautiful Royal Boxes overlooking the stage which are available for hire at any of our shows.
