We are delighted to launch our Winter Brochure this week as we prepare to dazzle audiences this winter and into 2025, with an impressive lineup of shows and performances.
It’s one of our most impressive winter programs featuring an array of well-known personalities, including household names such as Simon Reeve, Katherine Ryan, Rhod Gilbert, Anton Du Beke, Craig Revel-Horwood, Jimmy Carr, The Rocky Horror Picture Show, Wet Wet Wet, Heather Small, Justin Hayward, Red Hot Chilli Pipers, Artie, Tide Lines, Showaddywaddy, Emma Kenny, Myra’s Story, alongside some world-class dance and theatre spectaculars.
Comedy Champions
There’s a big week of laughs in November when Larry Dean brings his brand of observational comedy, swiftly followed by Scottish comedy genius Karen Dunbar and everyone’s favourite Northerner Paddy McGuinness, all playing within five days of each other.
2024 comedy is rounded off with Gary Meikle and his tales of being a new Papa, and Alhambra favourite Jason Byrne returns with a new show, called No Show, including props!
In 2025, the Alhambra welcomes behemoth of the TV and comedy world, Jimmy Carr, presenter of Eight Out of Ten Cats, Big Fat Quiz of the Year, bringing his rapid-fire wit and dark humour.
Star of Netflix shows Glitter Room and In Trouble and regular on panel shows such as 8 Out of Ten Cats, Katherine Ryan will bring her Canadian wit and charm to the Alhambra in March 2025 with her latest show, Battleaxe.
Actress, ventriloquist, and comedian Nina Conti & her puppet Monkey visit the Alhambra on Valentine’s Day 2025, showcasing her innovative use of masks with the show ‘Whose Face is it Anyway?’.
Rhod Gilbert comes to the Alhambra with his latest show, ‘Rhod Gilbert and the Giant Grapefruit. ‘ Rhod returns to stand-up after stints on TV shows such as ‘Have I Got News For You’ and ‘Rhod Gilbert’s Work Experience’.
Multi-talented TV, stage, and comedy star Jason Manford returns to the Alhambra in 2025, bringing his latest tour following a run as the Cowardly Lion in the Wizard Of Oz in London’s West End.
Musical Extravaganza
Justin Hayward, lead singer of the Moody Blues, will bring his Blue World tour to Dunfermline on October 9th. It is one not to be missed for fans of the sounds of the 1970s.
Scottish group Tide Lines hit the Alhambra stage on 28 November, bringing their anthemic indie-rock style to enthral the audience. Known for their warm, vibrant, genre-bending take on indie-folk, which is set to win them even more dedicated fans, Tide Lines is an act not to be missed.
2024 is rounded off by two blistering, ground-shaking sets from the Red Hot Chilli Pipers on December 30th.
In March 2025, Alhambra welcomes on of Scotland bands Wet Wet Wet, featuring support from the outstanding voice of Heather Small from M People, and all the classic hits.
The 70s favourites Showaddywaddy will thrill the audience in May 2025 with their classic pop hits, energetic performances, and distinctive style.
And with some HUGE names, still to be announced, 2025 is shaping up to be an excellent year for music in the Alhambra.
Family Fun
The Great British Panto Award nominated Alhambra pantomime is back for 2024!
And this year, something HUGE is coming as Fife’s biggest panto returns with Jack and the Beanstalk, featuring an all-star cast that includes Panto Legend Ian’ Sheepie’ Smith and River City and The Dolls star Gayle Telfer Stevens.
This year’s panto promises to bring even more festive magic to children and adults alike. With dazzling sets, colourful costumes, eye-catching special effects, and more audience interaction than ever before, it promises to be a fabulous immersive family show suitable for all ages. With some shows already SOLD OUT, there’s no better time to start your Christmas tradition.
Singing Kettle legend Artie returns for his Hogmanay Party on the 31st of December. It’s the perfect way to entertain the kids before the adults enjoy their Hogmanay celebrations.
Looking ahead to 2025, The Natural History Museum’s Dinosaurs Live interactive show will bring prehistoric creatures to life using stunning puppetry, offering an educational and entertaining experience for the whole family.
Something for Every Taste
Scottish Ballet will visit the Alhambra for the first time in October 2024, promising classical ballet with a modern twist and four performances in each show to showcase their artistry.
Dunfermline’s leading amateur dramatics group, Limelight Productions present Ghost: The Musical this October bringing the musical version of the beloved nineties movie to the Alhambra bringing their usual high quality production and choregography.
Acclaimed Adventurer and star of the BBC series Equator, Tropic of Capricorn, Places that Don’t Exist, and many more, Simon Reeve visits the theatre in November to regale the audience with tales of his travels across the world, highlighting some of the fantastic cultures he has experienced.
Criminologist and TV expert Professor Emma Kenny visits to discuss The Serial Killer Next Door. She applies her expertise to understand what drives some of the most evil criminals in history.
Strictly favourite Anton Du Beke’s festive extravaganza, Christmas with Anton, promises to entertain the audience with dazzling costumes and expert choreography.
Step Into Christmas is the ultimate celebration of the most wonderful time of the year, and Fairytale of New York asks the audience to imagine a ‘Christmas party on St Patrick’s Day’ – the perfect launch into Panto season.
The Strictly judge everyone loves to hate, Craig Revel Horwood visits the theatre in June 2025 bringing the audience his latest show Revelations: Songs Boys Don’t Sing.
The outstanding one-woman show Myra’s Story returns to the Alhambra in March 2025 after a sold-out run at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. This award-winning show is a beautiful, heartwrenching tale of addiction and homelessness and has received multiple standing ovations from audiences across the country.
The Rocky Horror Picture Show
In September 2025, audiences will step into the Time Warp when Dr. Frank N. Furter and the crew return to the Alhambra with the West End production of The Rocky Horror Show. This energetic, quirky show encourages the audience to sing and dance along and is always a fun show.
Celebrating Legends
The Alhambra has some world-class musicians coming this winter and into 2025, celebrating some massive music stars.
Internationally renowned Ben Portsmouth returns with his This is Elvis show in September. The Illegal Eagles hit the Alhambra stage in October with their sell-out tribute to the ‘Hotel California’ rockers.
Gary Mullen, winner of Stars In Their Eyes, will bring One Night of Queen back to the Alhambra in November. It remains the ultimate homage to Freddie Mercury’s showmanship.
Magic of Motown continues its success in its 20th year, captivating the audience with fabulous choreography and costumes, capturing the hits of the sixties.
‘What’s Love Got To Do With It’ pays tribute to Tina Turner on 30th November, promising a show celebrating one of the most iconic music stars.
The King of Pop, Michael Jackson, is celebrated in ‘The Man In The Mirror’ in April 2025, with a brand new show to Alhambra.
Rumours of Fleetwood Mac will also return to the Alhambra in 2025 following two SOLD OUT performances in May 2024.
