On behalf of the Alhambra Theatre Trust, we are pleased to announce that we will be officially reopening on September 10th 2021. Our very first show will be the fantastic comedian Al Murray.
We want to take this opportunity to thank all of our patrons and friends for the support you have shown during this difficult period due to the Covid-19 pandemic, resulting in 17 months of enforced closure.
During this period, The Alhambra Theatre Trust have been doing some renovation works in our beautiful auditorium, these works will ensure full covid safety measures are in place and will ensure that your visit to the Theatre is as safe as possible. We have also been awarded the See if Safely and Good to Go Scheme visitor accreditations, certifying the Alhambra is fully covid compliant and following all the latest Government guidance.
Recently the Alhambra Theatre Trust helped to create the Scottish Independent Theatres Association (SITA) along with two of Scotland’s other important independent theatres, The Tivoli Theatre Aberdeen and The Pavilion Theatre in Glasgow. Through Scottish Independent Theatres Association, we have created a voice to be heard and look forward as a group discussing the future of Scottish Theatre and the important role that Independent venues play within their local communities. If anything, good can come out of Covid it has shown the inequalities of the Theatre funding process in Scotland.
As we reopen in September, we also look ahead to 2022, our Centenary year, celebrating 100 years as Dunfermline’s oldest place of continuous entertainment.
Exciting times lie ahead, and we can’t wait to share the next part of our journey with you all.
We look forward to welcoming you back through our doors!
